Mr. Rigdon was elected to Board membership on the Board of Trustees in January of 2019 and currently serves as Vice Chairman. Steven received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia in 1992 and also graduated from the Commercial and Consumer Lending School of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia in 2003 as well as the Graduate School of Banking in Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2008. Steven began his career as a Human Resources Manager for the Milliken & Company Plant in LaGrange, Georgia and then returned to his hometown of Metter, Georgia in 1997 to begin work as the Vice President and Loan Officer at The Brown Bank. He later held the position of President of Ameris Bank in Vidalia, Georgia. In mid-2019, he returned once again to his hometown of Metter and took the position of President and serves on the Board of Directors at Pineland Bank. As such, Steven has in-depth experience in the areas of client service, banking regulations and policies, executive support, human resources, marketing, consumer, commercial, mortgage and agricultural lending as well as interpersonal, sales skills, and business expertise. As a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Metter and Swainsboro, a member of the East Georgia State College Foundation Board of Trustees, the United Way, Chamber of Commerce, and Industrial Development Authority of Candler County, and the Metter Primitive Baptist Church, Steven brings to the membership of the Board of Trustees of Bethany a sense of service to the Community and others that is highlighted in The Bethany Way Belief: “We are called to serve.” He currently serves as Chair of the Task Force for The Cottages at Bethany Phase II.
