The Community Commons Building is a beautiful 4,000 square foot building in the midst of Phase II of The Cottages. Designed and built to meet a need for those in Independent Living to have a place to engage and interact with other Residents of the Bethany Community that is also open to the Community of Statesboro and surrounding counties as a whole.

Becky D. Livingston, former CEO for Bethany, commented: “We are equally excited about the construction and the impact that The Community Commons at Bethany building will provide in continuation of our legacy of innovation in Senior Living. The collaborative work of an exceptional design and construction team, including Greg McKenzie Builders of Vidalia, Georgia (who also completed the original nine Cottages of Phase I and now has completed the fourteen additional Cottages of Phase II) represents the effort to bring a common space for the individuals that live on the Bethany campus as well as other visitors who may come to our campus and enjoy the benefits and opportunities for support and engagement targeted towards Seniors. In conjunction with targeted support from leaders in the Senior Community who are providing services and encouragement such as the St. Joseph’s/Candler Institute for Neurosciences Movement Disorders Program, Virtual Dementia Tour©, Coastal Plain Therapy & Wellness, as well as others, we have the opportunity to offer resources that will benefit those who are following the Journey and meeting the challenges of growing older.”
